Breaking News: DGCA summons Kingfisher CEO
Kingfisher's CEO and top officials were summoned today by the DGCA to explain the large-scale disruptions in the operations of the cash-strapped carrier even as government ruled out any bailout. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked senior officials of the airlines, including CEO Sanjay Aggarwal, to appear before it tomorrow to explain the cancellations. More than 20 flights were cancelled today. About 80 flights of the carrier from six metro cities did not operate yesterday leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that Bhoja Air was not issued license on political pressure. Compensation to the victim families have been ordered, he stated. He further said that the location of the plane crash had been sealed, added that, international level investigation would be conducted into the incident. The DG CAA said that last contact between the ill-fated plane and control tower was took place at 6:40pm. He said that the plane crashed into pieces some six kilometers away from the runway. He further said that rescue teams were ferried to the place of the incident on time. Yusufzai said that bodies of 113 people have been handed over to their families. After back to back incidents raising alarm about the safety standards of Privately Operated Airlines, the Ministry of Defense has ordered an inspection of the airplanes being used by private airlines. Passengers on-board a Shaheen Air fight escaped unhurt, when the planes tire burst during landing, at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport. In a separate incident, another Shaheen Air flight averted possible disaster when the Pilot stopped the plane seconds before Take Off. The Mashad bound plane had developed a fuel leak. On instructions from the Prime Minsiter a Judicial Commission has been set up to probe the Crash, while an FIR has been registered at the Koraal Police Station. The FIA has also scrutinized the documents available in the airline's office, which show that the Civil Aviation Authority had checked the ill-fated aircraft, twice. Bahrain Intl Airshow Jet Aircraft SBARTSTV News Preview The second Bahrain International Airshow January 19-21 will be a three-day event hosted at Sakhir in Bahrain, adjacent to the Bahrain International Grand Prix Circuit. The show is being organised through the continuing partnership of Civil Aviation Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain and UK exhibitions organiser, Farnborough International Ltd. The event itself will be highly exclusive with 40 participating companies, each one operating from its own luxury chalet unit. Participating companies will showcase products and services to potential buyers, visiting delegations, media, trade and public visitors as well as participating in a full programme of daily flying displays. The inaugural Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS), held in January 2010, was a tremendous success, not only for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the global aerospace community, but also particularly for the participating exhibitors, delegations and visitors. The event hosted 40 exhibitors, 94 aircraft and visiting delegations from 25 countries; resulting in $1bn worth of deals struck over the show's three days.
